Midnapore is an established neighbourhood located at the south end of Macleod Trail on Calgary's east side and bordered by Fish Creek Park to the east. It was once a small town to the south of Calgary and was annexed by the city in 1961 as the city spread.
The lake facilities opened in 1976 include a 30 acre lake, the focal point of which is the water fall. Members enjoy swimming, fishing, tennis courts, canoes, row boats and pedal boats, as well as skating and tobogganing. The area has mature vegetation, established schools and is a few minutes from the new South Calgary Health Facility. A large shopping area that includes such staples as Walmart, Home Depot, Canadian Tire, Superstore, movie theatres and a large variety of restaurants and other stores and services is located just across Macleod Trail.

Lake Sundance is located in south Calgary east of Macleod Trail, north of highway 22x and bordered to the east by Fish Creek Park. The Lake facility itself was opened in 1980 containing a 33 acre fresh water lake surrounded by 22 acres of park. Members enjoy a beautful waterfall, large sandy beach and swimming area, fishing, childrens wading pool and two playgrounds, activities such as horseshoe pits, basketball, beach volley ball and tennis courts, soccer field a paved rink for roller blading and roller hockey, walking paths around the park, a clubhouse with large banquet rooms and meeting rooms, two out door cook shacks and outdoor barbecues and picnic tables.The area has mature vegetation, established schools and the new South Calgary Health Facility.
