Mckenzie Lake, a year round playground The community of Mckenzie Lake is located just west of Deerfoot Trail and north of highway 22x, and bordered to the west by Fish Creek Park.
Residents of the Mckenzie Lake area enjoy a private 43 acre lake combined with an 18 acre park for year round recreation. The lake offers a swimming area with sandy beaches, fishing from the stocked rainbow trout (no license required), access to row boats, canoes, kayaks and pedal boats with life jackets provided at no charge. Members also enjoy access to tennis and basketball courts, beach volleyball, picnic areas with barbeques and a tobaggan hill. In the winter members enjoy a variety of skating surfaces including hockey rinks, a pleasure rink with fire pit and a 2.5 kilometer Zambonied skating path around the lake.
