Now that the summer is coming to an end and kids are heading back to school next week (if they haven't already), it's time to get back into the routine of packing a healthy lunch that your kids will actually eat. Sure we all have heard of the standard PB&J but with many schools being nut free, that's no longer an option. Some ideas to keep the kids interested in their lunch (and not trading with their friends...) may be quesadillas, pizza muffins, pita, or hummus and veggies. Another idea to get your kids involved in making their lunch, provided they are old enough, is to prepare bins with grab-and-go type snacks. You can make one set of bins for the pantry and one set in the fridge and making lunches will go faster and smoothly. For more ideas, click here and here.
